Recently we discovered a new service when looking for additional advertising streams for our client. Repixel is a marketplace that connects non-competitive companies in the same industry and lets them easily retarget each other’s websites and apps. Pretty cool!
What is Retargeting?
We’d all like to think that every person that visits our website follows a straight path to make a purchase, download an ebook, book an appointment, etc. But, the user’s journey is not so linear. According to Wordstream, the average landing page conversion rate ranges between 2.35% and 11.45%. Your website design and performance plays a big role in these numbers, but using retargeting, you can still bring people back to your site.
Retargeting is a popular form of behavioral targeting where advertisers tag users that have visited a webpage or app so they can serve them ads later. For example, have you ever noticed that when you visit a particular product page, but you don’t complete the purchase, for the next couple of weeks, you’ll see a noticeable surge in the number of online ads you’re seeing for that product? That’s retargeting at work.
Traditionally, website owners were only able to retarget visitors to their own websites and apps. Now, with Repixel‘s marketplace, advertisers will, for the first time ever, be able to retarget someone else’s website and apps leading to a whole new world of cross-marketing opportunities! In exchange for the access, partners receive a new revenue stream without putting invasive banner ads on their site.
